Perimeter Orthopaedics is the only practice in North Atlanta that offers true 3D weight bearing CT imaging of the foot and ankle. PedCAT scans allow Dr. Spiegl to view his patient's foot and ankle abnormalities in their normal standing position, providing for a more accurate analysis.

Step  into  Standing  CT  and  get  the  most  accurate  diagnosis  for  your  injury.

Perimeter Orthopaedics is the only practice in North Atlanta that offers true 3d weight bearing CT imaging of the foot and ankle.  PedCAT™ scans allow Dr. Paul Spiegl to view his patient’s foot and ankle abnormalities in their normal standing position providing for a more accurate analysis.  A few minutes after the patient steps onto the pedCAT, the scan is reconstructed and ready for review. This  technology,  known  as  cone  beam  volumetric  tomography  (CBVT),  aid doctors  in  diagnosing  and  treating  conditions like subluxations  and  dislocations,  midfoot  injuries,  bunions,  flat  feet, sprains,  arthritis, and  diabetic  related  issues.

The pedCAT offers numerous benefits:

  1. Physicians can view foot and ankle abnormalities in the patient’s normal standing position allowing for a more accurate analysis.
  2. The ultra-low dose of radiation generated by this PET scan is significantly less than radiation from traditional CT imaging.
  3.  Images are unencumbered by overlapping anatomy and are shown to be more sensitive and accurate for detection of osteophytes and subchondral cysts.
  4. In instances where patients cannot bear weight on the foot or ankle, the patient has the ability to sit down on the included seat during the scan.
